indie VRM [7.25.14]

VRM is about the Individual. We have so many philosophies running amuck that fail to start with the Individual... like the biz model of selling data "owned" by Individuals... bleh.

Here is an Individual TOS... "Keep your personal data off our servers". Ignorance and stupidity is still not an excuse in this world. You "own" something?... act like it. Every other act is a trade-off.

The internet is a public utility. Bringing "private" into "public" always produces the same result... death of privacy.

Customers are prey in this world. That is the default condition. Literally, the basis of the "Free Market" in any Society is the free and liberal good-faith exploitation of your participation as data under management. A citizen is "data under management" with contextual meaning.

We all allow our present model to exist by complying.

Babies are born, babies are defined administratively. You are a social liability with rising costs, and the asset value of your life is leveraged to provide administered "Freedom and Security" by Society.

Equality = administered data enslavement with Rights.

Smart and successful people leave that design asap in all practical ways, and change their structural participation incrementally throughout life. But the baseline condition for all of us is the same. Leveraged data slaves. That is why the #1 population at risk to identity theft are babies with State-issued social benefit credentials like a "Social Security #" in the US.

We take administration for granted on this planet. And very few people ever challenge the inherent structure of administration used by Society.

Independence is hard... thats why most people seek employment... and never the twain shall meet.

The more VRM is about better coupons, the less it is about Individuals.

Empowering the socio-economic experience for Individuals means NOT being a customer... ie "prey"... and instead reconstituting one's self as the owner of personal authority/leverage/asset value/attention/labor/intellectual capacity/etc

Agreed... its not for everyone. Then again, neither is Independence.

The root problem affecting "Data Sovereignty" is that our administration system has misconstrued "Sovereign source authority"... by forcing its non-existence within a registration process stored within a database-driven system.

Individuals have no Rights... only administered "citizens" have Rights... and this administrative precedence defines what "Freedom" and "Security" mean in every socio-economic context. That is the problem.

There will be no Sovereign peace on this planet while using this model of administration. Structure yields results.
