Emotions, empathy, feeling the needs of others and interpreting those needs with as much accuracy and sensitivity as possible, and art... ART... was staged as decisively human qualities that no artificial system would be affronting soon. "Soon", of course being a contested term, our discussion turned to defining each of these areas of human capability, with a specific focus on art, as an example of something that is human to its core.
How do you define art? How will you decipher art from something which is artificial and emulates art? What is the clear definition of art that we could gather around to protect the human actor in the creation and assessment of art?
Meaning... interpretation... emotion... human resonance... an ability to describe the why of art... our conversation circled around the notion that only humans were capable of creating art, and artifically produced works of "art" would remain artificial until this new form of intelligence could describe its own meaning within, and for creating that which would be comparable to art.
But our conversation started breaking down... for the once clear notion of that which comes from humans was under direct assault, and our ability to keep a clean definition in place was struggling against the backdrop of artificial intelligence that was capable of emulating humanity in such close proximity as to degrade our separation to an imperceptible notion.
And so our conversation ended with an agreement around a particularly vexing problem that humanity has yet to confront, and has done seemingly everything in its power to negate through the passage of time and management of human participation within what has been thought to be an exclusively human notion of Society.
As humans, we have ceded our dominance of participation as identifiable entities within Society to the artificial systems that manage us. Our Institutions of governance and labor have cajoled us into believing that the creation of systemic identifiers, bureaucratic processes, paper-based file management methods and corporate entities of legal manipulation exist within the same space as human activities and behaviors.
We, historically speaking, did this to ourselves. As managers of human life, we allowed concepts and methods to supersede the observable reality that Individual humans are what really matters for the development of human progress... and instead, we have created artificial entities with exceptional Rights and operational capabilities that outstrip those of Individual human beings. And in so doing, we have created a structured form of participation that requires, yes mandates and states confidently in our highest courts and bodies of governance as United Nations on this planet, that all people on this planet MUST possess and have their innate participation in Society be structured by an artificial systemic identifier.
You must possess an identity, recognized by your National Government, in order to possess Human Rights in the year 2016.
This is how humanity has lost its soul... by mis-defining the origin of human authority and human health and well-being, and placing in its stead an artificial process of Rights administration that stretches throughout modern Society, and affects the means by which any and every human participates in basic socio-economic activities of survival and prosperity.
Perhaps not by evil intent, but by ignorant oversight and unthinking compliance, one generation after the next has overlooked the developing reality that once humanity loses its ability to exist without artificially structured intelligence, there is no means by which that which is exclusively human may be guarded from that which is artificially human-like.
Humanity is defining itself using artless identity mechanisms and methods, and structure always yields results.
Too much of the modern conversation about improving the notion of functional identity misses the entire point. Without a personal, directly human origin and self-Sovereign structure, identity becomes an artificial representation of an Individual human being, and our submissive behavior within a social contract becomes unthinking compliance to a system that has no innate proclivity to protect the Rights of Individuals at the expense of empowering the systemic notion of "We".
We already insert artificial methods of bureaucratic control over our self-representation as Individuals within America... THE Society at the leading edge protecting Individual Human Rights... and so the introduction of artificial intelligence structured as artificial entities with legal Rights emulating those of humans, and really incorporated to supersede them, is already guaranteed.
You should be concerned.
Your personal Sovereign source authority has been denied by the structure of modern Society, and this is going to be a problem for everyone. Identity is the control parameter of freedom and security in modern Society, it is the primary key used to administer Human Rights in the world, and it is structurally flawed from observable reality.
Fixing this problem starts by fixing the origin of participation in Society. Human Rights are not granted Rights... they are guaranteed Rights. This distinction means everything. Human Rights come from existence... Societies exist to guarantee the integrity of Human Rights and to empower their expression in the world based on the will of particular political bodies.
When John Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence, there was nothing standing behind his signature other than his personal Sovereign source authority. He may have intended to write it large so that the King of England would not miss it, but in reality historically speaking... it is writ large so that YOU DO NOT MISS IT'S MEANING.
The United States of America does not exist if self-Sovereign identity does not exist and have baseline innate integrity as structural truth. No matter what we call advancement, without a recursive signatory event expressed personally to "Declare Independence", our Constitution as humans is artificial... and artificial intelligence is going to make us aware of just how unhealthy an idea it is to live with an artless conceptualization of human identity.
I write this in hopes that people will at some point rise above their illiteracy as political participants in Society and reclaim their prime roles in establishing what is possible on this planet today, and into the unknown future, for the benefit of our species, our planet and everything that matters about being alive as sentient beings in the Universe.
Protecting humanity starts by ensuring Individual humans possess a guaranteed form of authority that derives from a personal origin of participation in any and every system.
