IF you are organized as labor, the State owns your existence as an asset and structures you as a social liability. Corporations pay the State for the Right and opportunity to employ you as labor, and instantiates this relationship with forms W4 and W2 processed by IRS at Department of Treasury.
IF you are organized as an entrepreneur, the State is the recipient of your self-Sovereign human authority to create, invent, develop or otherwise improve upon the natural human condition. Your actions do not enter the State until such time as harms must be managed, or by your own volition you register your efforts as trade name, IP, or local registrant of record in County and State administration systems. There are many such systems, and they vary by State and County substantially.
Capitalism is the opportunity to own capital.
Communism is the elimination of the opportunity to own capital.
Labor exists in both systems. The organization of labor, the structure of "Labor Rights" as devised by Government administration bodies from time to time, or any other act that creates labor opportunities and standards of procedure are one part of the innovation process. Administrative systems evolve, as do legal systems. Labor systems are no different.
By nature of definitions beyond what Individuals can convey upon their own legal labor, unless organized by intent as a self-owned entrepreneurial asset, the choice to function as labor in a social-liability model is a very specific kind of choice.
Unions exist to protect labor, in the form of people providing said labor.
"More Perfect Unions" implies an evolving concept of social empowerment, for everywhere in the civilized world, labor value is validated. In both capitalist and communist systems, labor has value. Beyond the literature, "more perfect unions" should represent the learned understanding of value that both systems have imparted on the world, while not denying the open truth of failings and the nature of results they produce.
But even more profound than how labor is organized, is the realization that labor has unequivocal value. The real conflict present in our world is really about whether "You" own your own labor as an entrepreneur by default, or whether you are a social liability providing your labor asset value to the State as the baseline of civil administration.
Where does value resolve?
Are you the owner of your own value?
Is the State the default owner of your value?
Where do you get your authority from as an American citizen? Do you know unequivocally? You should. A functionally literate American should be the default output of the Department of Education and State Education Departments in every classroom across our Sovereign land. Sadly, this is not the case.
Why?
Being scared, and huddling together for support has been the default human condition throughout history. Human innovation rises above the default, making it possible for Individuals, families, towns, villages, cities, and all types of innovation-driven outcomes to exist. In each case, labor has been supplied by human authority. Governments arise out of a people's desire to administer justice, to provide law and order. The funds collected by Governments arise from the production of labor, and conceptually, this labor is able to be taxed because it takes place within the Sovereign jurisdiction of the Government that exists to administer that Sovereign jurisdiction. Labor by default is owned by the State. Entrepreneurial self-possession allows for the exploration of any labor type, without registration. In a free-enterprise system, your self-possession it turns out is a pre-requisite for the existence of self-induced labor.
There is a choice.
The Individual is not inherently compelled to work for the State. Self-possession, self-reliance, self-subsistence is our origin as people. Civil Society does not exist to extinguish these fires, but to guard this light. Human Individuals with entrepreneurial zeal lead the way at every level of Society. Engineers make physical boundaries melt away, solve problems both big and small with math, logic and work ethic, and implore Humanity to believe in itself.
Social entrepreneurs do no less, so long as the moral compass of their efforts is true. Individuals are not to be farmed by Humanity through the writing of any literary document, whether contrived by fiction or legislation so long as the Individuals are not duly and recursively represented accurately as the sole source of human authority applied.
This is not optional. In fact, it is the basis of war.
"We the people" is literature in America, unless it is accurately represented. In 1776, America did not have the capabilities to exist. It only possessed the aspiration. In 1776, societies globally were in no place to achieve the American Dream. But this did nothing to stop the aspiring will of Americans.
Do you understand?
Entrepreneurial labor builds everything. A society that provides default labor value to Individuals as self-possessed assets, as the sole source of their own recursive self-Sovereign authority applied via social artifacts that empower more perfect unions to live and breathe for the benefit of human communities of all types are only now becoming possible. America is possible, in 2020.
For the first time in the existence of the world, it is possible for the American Dream to live everywhere, in every home that chooses to host it. The global moment that is chaotically forming among us all is the moment of choice for each of us. Do you own your own life? Do you own your own labor value? Do you understand how to increase your own value? Do you know how to administer your labor value as an owner?
