Nothing is more important than the lawful integrity of a Society, wherein good intentioned people with a desire to contribute to and be benefitted by lawful participation are directly rewarded by an accountable mechanism affording equality of access to opportunity under personal Terms of control. In America, this model of personal sovereignty is foundational to the root design of our administered existence as citizens, and can never be deemed antagonistic to our security or freedom as a people. Without sovereignty, and specifically, without the American model of sovereignty, Individuals of this world will not find personal security or freedom outside of the permissioned space of their administrative representation.
In the near future, government could cease to be understood as a noun and begin to exist only as a verb driven by nouns directly. Truth is government is not really a thing... it is a process driven by things. The illusion of a thing called government is the mis-construence of authority by things in an administrative context bearing a mis-constructed form. The current form of citizen identity registration and citizen labor administration has created an un-American outcome that defies Constitutional integrity. The Internet is exposing this fact in profoundly simple and important ways.
Individuals willfully joined together in a more perfect union represent the governing authority in American Society. When allowed to be mis-administered, the authority of any given Society ceases to be the free-will contribution of sovereign Individuals and begins to be an administered outcome demonstrating control authority over Individual participation. In America, this could literally be construed as an unlawful structure, not in harmony or good legal standing with the foundations of US Constitutional authority by intentional root design.
'John Hancock' is a prototypical citizen construct in America. Sovereign authority is personal in origin and National even Global in effect, as proven by this one man's signature. The current lack of a recursive signatory construct in standing up the sovereign authority of the US Constitution is an error of administrative omission, and represents an error of common-sense that is observable by a basic review of historical fact.
No sovereign construct such as THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is possible in this Universe unless it is made possible by the inherent sovereignty imbued by the Universe unto Individual Human beings. What? Blood authority is always personal in origin, and is representative of the only authority capable of standing up a sovereign nation such as America. 'John Hancock' was a signatory event with true meaning for any and all administrative constructs to consider... not only the King of England, upon whom it was exercised.
Citizenship in America in the year 2014 is an administered outcome; it exists only after you are administered. Sovereign citizens deliberately stand up "more perfect Unions" with a model of authority that exists pre-administration. No administrative system is necessary for sovereign citizens to act and react in a Free and Sovereign Union. This is a defining characteristic of any Society that wishes to live up to the ideals put to paper in America. It is by no means a requirement of any people.
If you are an American, then it is the only way you can prove that claim true. Sovereignty in America is blood authority at root, and data authority inherently... pre-administration. Good people in America NEED to confront this reality soon, before our administrative machinery and artificial intelligence investments yield a conflict-based relationship that could become all but impossible to extricate one's self from.
American citizenship is mis-structured currently, and is being administered upon babies in a systemic manner whereby the model of sovereign American authority is being overtly denied by structural process. The administrative precedence of sovereign source authority in America must always begin with the Individual, prior to any administrative control by a governing process. This is inherent to the definition of an American citizen, provable by every man and women... guaranteed to every child.
Sovereign citizens do not ask for permission to be the sovereign origin of National authority in America, we declare it so. Any other model is un-American by definition.

Methods exist for Individuals to preserve/structure/use a sovereign source identifier today. And while those methods may be different in individual implementations, the end result is understood in the same Terms... we all want and recognize a need for the same thing, and it is personal in origin.
The issue that remains is implementing use in a manner that allows anyone to have this structure if they so choose it by default across the whole of open participation in Society. While that sounds huge...too huge perhaps for some... I believe it is becoming increasingly necessary. Lets use the antithesis example... Facebook.
Facebook, for all its good or bad as a data aggregating platform, boils down to one section of its 'Terms of Use' that requires its users to correlate their "Legal Identity" with their social profile. This legal identity has a single source of origin.
It is not Facebook that has caused our root problem in ceding our sovereign source authority within any data exchange where this model of identity use is implemented... it is the data model of citizenship itself that has caused the problem. Facebook just exposes it.
The Internet did not cause our identity woes... we are mis-administered by default structure in Society, at least in America... and the Internet is exposing it. NSTIC has proposed nothing to fix this. I do not think it can really using the admin model it is currently advancing.
If we were to restructure how participation was inaugurated in Society using a sovereign source identity that originates authority outside of the administrative system, then use of Facebook would not betray us as data producing beings by default... that would be a choice structure with accountability on Individual use.
So the question here... given what is possible today...is... how can a new model of "legal identity authority" be implemented in a Society like America so that sovereign authority is personal in origin and National in effect?
Without changing a single law, there is already a formula that is useful, true and able to be advanced:
IF birth = citizenship AND parent = citizen THEN parent = default new citizen administrator
Every birth certificate is where this shift in the model of authority changes in Society. It may have to be a generational shift to make it happen. Hard enough teaching my grandmother how to use a mouse. Generational authority, as I have shared prior, is a historically validated concept in Constitutional configuration... and a recursive signatory implemented in generational Terms would certainly have an effect.
But we need a process... one that can be implemented at hospitals and by professional midwives all the same. Citizenship should not be a process that claims us... it should be a process that each of us claim for ourselves. We are not the dogs of our government, the government is each of our dog. We have it backwards currently, and fixing it is as easy as standing a new registration model up so that data services on the Internet can function with some structural integrity without having to change much... because change is each of our responsibility Individually.

Question: using the above formula as plumbing, is there a way you can envisage through which we might at least take steps towards that new model?
I can think of 3 mass registration events of value. In each, we need to reverse how a "Trust" manufactures/holds/attributes citizenship Rights via the identifier. Rather than assigning PII to the registration event, thereby placing PII within an administered context... we need to originate a method where citizen identifiers can be generated devoid of PII... and stood up by the accountability of personal sovereign authority outside of the administered system. A citizen identifier need not hold PII if it empowers a personal sovereign model of authority... it simply needs to be validated by the sovereign authority of other citizens... ie a parent + doctor/midwife at a live birth event. In such an example, citizen id=012345 would be validated by citizen id=abcdef + citizen id=z1y2x3... and PII could be constructed later within a UUID implementation that would be useful ongoing with representational force and validity. Producing citizen id= data would never expose PII, only validated citizen Rights.
Birth is the first mass registration event. Registration for public school is the 2nd.... ie Kindergarten. Interestingly, as any parent of autistic children likely knows, or any "religiously diverse" family certainly knows... there is a way for Individuals to opt-out of certain "legal requirements" as citizens receiving public services (education), such as immunizations. Data structure could be construed as another. The basis of the power is Individual Rights and freedom of religion. The same power can be demonstrated in other meaningful ways in Society as well. I say this to point out that there is a method to claiming and using personal sovereignty in Society... and it is definitive. So that seeds any methodology I/we might consider....
From 0 -18 years of age, the age at which Individual legal accountability as an adult begins in America, there are conceivably limitless ways that parents may wish to protect/structure/empower/
For me, engineering sovereign source authority for myself or my child is not just about control of authority or identity or data... it is about integrity of work output and a deliberate separation of my living activities on this planet where "I" am the only bearer of context under my personal authority. It is not about avoidance of accountability in any way/shape/form... it is about the accuracy of accountability under personal Terms rather than managed Terms... ie Freedom.
Consider... as I work with robotic systems, microcircuits, data and code I am aware that without technical-administrative subservience to my own Human authority, the integrity of my life is at risk, not only from the creations of others, but from my own creations and work output as well. Sovereign authority is integrity among peers/ Society... and outputs must resolve. Driver-less cars must attribute accountability accurately, and drones, software, and bio-engineering outputs must also empower, not degrade, our integrity as Human communities.
This is the role of sovereign source authority... personal empowerment and personal accountability... simultaneously.
All the more important is the act of preserving this Human blood authority in the future my child will be part of experiencing and constructing. I want that future to work well. In teaching many other kids as well, I am convinced that without protecting and deliberately structuring this sovereign authority, most people are going to be subservient to increasingly few people, and increasingly complex automated administrative systems. File systems must be tamed, understood and dominated by Human Individuals. That is a worthy purpose of public education, and yet completely off the radar.
Society needs to effectively teach entrepreneurial ed-tech... coding skills, entrepreneurial skills, maker skills, learning skills.... and should take input from a model I call "indie school" that originates in the students life rather than inside of a state-run administration system and begins with a mechanism to manage access to data. This begins with a sovereign source identifier that anyone can originate equally, and which can scale in effect based on personal configuration. For instance, there is a current case brewing at Northwestern U where the front is "labor Rights" of student-athletes. While the context of the battle again frames the issue using precedent rather than the future ideal, as a parent, it is possible to supersede this debate with a structure that does not construe your child as "low cost labor" bargaining for increased value... and instead structures your child as a "self-owned asset" with the capability of self declaring value in entrepreneurial Terms. Athletes, musicians, young coders... they are all at school and are currently unstructured social liabilities being serviced for "free" and harvested for "profit" by a system designed to work exactly that way... while change is possible.
But there is something else that is needed... something more fundamental and authoritative to how our Society works... a 3rd method whereby the idea of "Declaring Independence" and adding a recursive signatory method to the current US Constitution is enabled... a method that transacts power in generational Terms. 0-18 is a significant population when joined by a significant portion of 44 - 62 parents standing up this personal sovereign model of participation in Society. If the new structure of citizenship was personally sovereign, free and open, and afforded its practitioners with advanced capabilities by default in numerous transactional exchanges, I don't believe a war would be necessary to enact an administrative transition (which has been the case historically). But I could be wrong... there are always losers when any one wins... and history does like its wars.
Those that profit today on our sovereign serfdom will not necessarily be so easily motivated. But parents are a prime pathway in the opposite direction I believe.

Once we have a model of personal sovereign authority, I believe it will empower creative use in any number of directions, some that today are seemingly impossible otherwise. I also believe that when sovereignty is equal at default participation, and personal ownership is the default structure in all socio-economic exchanges, the context for IP law changes as well. Theft and secured scarcity positions run amuck today because we lack contextual methods for forming predictable relationships where value can be leveraged in more productive manners. In some cases, your default participatory structure is inherently prohibitive to progress. The mis-administration of opportunity in Society directly relates to the origin of sovereign authority.
Taken one step further... I also believe the origin of sovereign authority has an impact on social issues like LGBT Rights. Personal sovereignty makes no distinction on any other factor than being Human. Human Rights are Human Rights. "Marriage" Rights are another matter, under state definition and control and relative to philosophical underpinnings. Having personal sovereign authority in a Society changes how Rights are attributed and equalizes access.
Our current model, when viewed objectively from afar... makes the impression that "white men" are able to give themselves Rights under sovereign authority historically... and everyone else must ask for those Rights and qualify their requests. Obviously this is a historical artifact with much nuance, but undeniable is the fact that there was no request necessary for 'John Hancock' to declare independence and use his sovereign source authority to both destroy and stand anew with integrity a model of National administrative sovereignty.
This same power remains today, even while social will or proclivity may have changed.

Consider an internal perspective... an attitude of disregard enforced by plausible deniability and zero personal accountability practiced by employees... liabilities possessed by owners.
The counter-force of this employment model is the only path to real change.
So the question becomes: What kind of "person" are you?
Sovereign-Owner or Citizen-Employee... by default?
Opting into and out of a Society via currency use does not begin with money... it begins by defining you.
Imagine a coup d'état of a Society by obfuscation.
